Associate Planner (Economics)

Dan Hay

Dan joined the ET Planning team in January 2020 as an Associate Planner, based at the Crowthorne office. As an Associate Planner Dan is able to support clients looking at larger scale developments or with complex cases where planning permission might be hard to obtain. Dan also has experience of the Planning Inquiry process and is able to confidently present at these on behalf of the client.

Dan brings with him experience of working within both Local Authority Planning teams as well as Private Consultancies. Dan has worked specifically within the rural sector for a number of years; achieving successful planning results for rural diversification projects, barn conversions and redevelopments along with exceptional new country houses under NPPF Paragraph 79. All of which provide significant value uplift for clients. Dan is also able to work on viability cases for developments – and in particular for affordable housing.

Most notably within his previous work within the rural sector, Dan has led on the development of a large-scale self and custom build scheme in East Suffolk for 50 units. This complex project was quite unusual as there are not many other similar schemes that exist at this size.

When he’s not in the office, Dan can often be found walking his new Beagle puppy or attending a Reading Football match as he’s an avid fan!

Dan is looking to support new clients of ET Planning who may be struggling to obtain planning permission for their new large or small-scale developments. Get in touch with Dan today if you would like to discuss how he could support you.
